Flash-based websites are fading into history as CSS animated sites are rapidly replacing them. For years, one of the major goals developers have had was to create websites that are interactive with their visitors. Flash was the answer for many; it allowed for fun animations that website visitors could engage with. Not only are Flash-based site not supported by Apple iOS devices<\/a>, they often cause pages to load slowly because of how much data it requires to make Flash technology work. This frequently frustrates visitors who want to quickly access information.<\/p>\n

Currently, more and more developers are implementing subtle CSS animations on their websites. These animations load very quickly and create very nice and soft interactions with visitors that helps maintain their interest as they browse around the page. CSS animations offer many possibilities of interacting with the visitor in ways they may not expect. They can respond to mouse clicks, mouse movements, page scrolling, and window size adjusting.<\/p>\n

When we built our new website, we really wanted to increase engagement and interest, so we decided to include subtle CSS animations all over our home page. These animations make you want to keep scrolling and discover more about what is on our website. Words pop as the mouse hovers over them, photos go from monochrome to color, and buttons appear when you hover over the various services we offer.
